Meet the Cast of LOVE & THE GRAVE

These characters were originally meant to be just minor characters in The Wayward Damned, book 2 of Tales From The Western Tides but it became obvious pretty quickly that they wouldn’t be satisfied with just a little mention. Dramatic and self obsessed as they are, they demanded their own book. If you’ve read Wayward, that will come as no surprise. It was so fun writing characters that are so much larger than life, dramatic in all the best ways and totally unhinged.

Are you ready to meet the extravagant, Romeo and Juliet-esque, serial killer lovers terrorising their city and beyond? These two only have one interest—each other, well that and a flirting fascination with blood. Their idea of a perfect date? One you best hope you never run into. Because you’re likely to be their second course.

Vivienne Salter: Hauntingly Beautiful & Psychotic

Vivienne is our ‘heroine’ (in her own mind at least). She’s beautiful. She’s well bred. She’s sought after by the bachelors of Kilead and all of Aelin. But much to her mother’s displeasure, she’s only got eyes for one—the outcast boy she grew up with. She cares not for heirs and graces, or fancy balls. She’d rather be hiding out somewhere drinking stolen wine and getting attention from her blue eyed ‘rabid dog’ of a boyfriend.

You can’t call her a cold-blooded killer, she gets far too excited about it to be called that. But she also loves ducks and cloud spotting in the park. She’s fiercely loyal in her devotion to Julian and despite finding moving dead bodies rather cumbersome, she’s happy as long as she’s with him.

Julian Danes: Societal Outcast & Secret Lover Boy

Our outcast has had it tough his entire life. Raised by an abusive father who calls him a monster since his mother died in childbirth. Julian hates the pompous life he was born into and has dreams of burning it all down to the ground. His only saving grace, his solace, is Vivienne. Wanting to give her the world is Julian’s primary driving force, almost 24/7. If we’re getting really serious he likely has a diary just filled with doodles all about how pretty Vivienne looks.

If my trusted beta reader is anything to go by—this man is obsessed with murder and lemonade. He doesn’t sweat the authorities on their trail of dead bodies. He’s just focused on having fun. Despite his violent tendencies, deep down he’s a true romantic, a lover and a fighter.

If we’ve yet to scare you off, come and meet Vivienne and Julian on their murderous rampage in Love & The Grave—available in paperback and eBook!
